e-TAX BILLING TERMS & CONDITIONS

The E-Tax Billing service enables you to view and pay your Secured Property Tax bill on line using the Internet. By subscribing to E-Tax Billing, you agree that you will no longer receive a paper tax bill by mail from the County. The Madera County Tax Collector, hereafter referred to as the Tax Collector, is committed to ensuring your on-line billing is always available. However, in the event that you do not retrieve or cannot view your tax bill, the Tax Collector will not be held liable. The responsibility of paying your tax bill in a timely manner remains yours. In the event of a discrepancy between an on-line tax bill and the Tax Collector billing records, the Tax Collector billing records will always prevail.

You must have a valid e-mail account to use E-Tax Billing. You must provide us with the correct and currently valid address of the e-mail account to which you would like notification of your tax bill availability to be sent. The accuracy of that e-mail address is entirely your responsibility and in particular, but without limitation, should that e-mail account ever become invalid or should you wish notification of your tax bill availability to be sent to a different e-mail it is your responsibility to login to
https://mygovbill.com/madera and change your email address. You, and you alone shall remain fully liable for any tax bills for which notification has been sent to your previous e-mail address.

You must be the owner of record in order to use this service. All requests that do not match the ownership name and physical and/or mailing address as listed with the Assessor will be rejected. The owner of record may sign up for this service and forward the email to a designated payer.

Entering an address on the registration page does not change the mailing address in our tax system. For an address change, please visit https://www.maderacounty.com/government/assessor click on the Forms and Documents button, then search for the appropriate address change form. Complete the form and forward to the Assessor. 

The Tax Collector Office will not be liable for any e-mails caught in a spam or junk mail filter, nor will the Tax Collector Office be liable for any e-mails rejected by a firewall or any other reasons that may prevent you from receiving or viewing the tax bill notification. You, and you alone shall remain fully responsible and liable to pay any bills of which notification has been sent to you.

All Secured Property Tax bills shall be due and payable on the "date due" of each bill. You, and you alone shall remain fully responsible and liable to pay any bills of which notification has been sent to you.

Any material downloaded or otherwise obtained by your using the E-Billing service is done at your discretion and risk and you are solely responsible for any damages to your computer system or loss of data that result from downloading of such material. You also agree that the Tax Collector will not be liable to you or any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive or consequential losses or damages, including loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses. In addition to the indemnities set forth in these Terms and Conditions, you also defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Tax Collector, its employees, related County departments and service providers and each of their directors, officers, employees, consultants and agents from and against all claims, liabilities and expenses, including legal fees and costs, arising out of your use of the Service and any breach of these Terms and Conditions.

You may cancel your enrollment in the E-Billing service at any time. Login to your account at https://mygovbill.com/madera and go to My Bills. In the assessment, section delete the assessment parcel numbers (APN) you no longer want delivered as E-Tax bills.

If you agree to the Terms and Conditions, please click the “I Agree to the Terms & Conditions” button below. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, simply do not click the “I Agree to the Terms & Conditions” button. Please note that you will not be able to use the service unless and until you agree to the Terms and Conditions stipulated above.

A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you. It is important to accept the confirmation e-mail sent to you within 24 hours in order to activate your account.
